From Jobsite to the Olympics - Celebrating Austin Florian

February 12th, 2026

O,R&L Construction is proud to congratulate Austin Florian, a Southington, Connecticut native and former O,R&L summer intern, on earning a spot in the Winter Olympics as a skeleton racer.

Austin joined our team as a summer intern while we were working on a warehouse renovation project for Inline Plastics. During that time, he worked closely with our Superintendent Sergio Aguilar, who remembers Austin not just for his work ethic, but for his character.

“Austin is one of the nicest, hardest-working guys you’ll ever meet,” Sergio shared. “He comes from such a great and grounded family. You could tell right away he was motivated, respectful, and willing to put in the work.”

Before heading north to Lake Placid to train, Austin spent his summer learning the ropes of the construction industry - showing the same dedication and discipline that would later help propel him into elite-level athletics. Even years later, his time with the team remains a point of pride for those who worked alongside him.

Seeing Austin go from a summer intern on one of our jobsites to competing on the world’s biggest athletic stage is a powerful reminder of where hard work, commitment, and the right mindset can lead.

We’re so excited for Austin and wish him the best of luck during his Olympic run. No matter the outcome, his journey is something to celebrate and we’re so honored to have been part of it.

Congratulations, Austin! We’re all cheering you on!!
